Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 August 2026

Rescript Sleep asks you to write down the most private thing you have — a recurring nightmare. So the short version is this: we never receive it. What you write stays on your device and in your own iCloud, and there is no server of ours holding it. This page explains exactly what that means, and where the edges are.

What we collect

From the app: nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no email address, and no profile. We do not receive your entries, your rewrites, your distress ratings, or any record of whether you used the app at all.

There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, and no advertising or attribution framework in the app. Not configured to collect less — not present.

Where your writing lives

Backup is on by default because the app's weekly review — watching how often nightmares happen, and how distressing they are, fall over weeks — is part of how the practice works. Losing that history to a new phone would lose the therapy, not a convenience. If you would rather it stayed on one device, sign out of iCloud or turn off iCloud for Rescript Sleep in iOS Settings.

The one network request

The app makes exactly one request to a server we run. When you open the Settings screen, it fetches the short list of other Remidy Labs apps shown there, so that list can change without an app update.

That request sends nothing — no identifier, no device ID, no cookies, no content, not even a query. As with any web request, our host sees the IP address it came from and the time. There is nothing else to see, and we do not build records from it.

It runs only when you open Settings. Logging a nightmare, writing a rewrite, or rehearsing never causes any network activity at all. The app works completely offline.

Voice notes

If you speak your entry instead of typing it, the audio is transcribed by Apple's on-device speech recognition. We deliberately require the on-device engine: if a device or language cannot do it locally, the app tells you and offers typing instead, rather than quietly sending your recording to a server. The audio is not saved and never leaves your phone.

No AI in this release

This version does not draft, suggest, or generate anything. You write your own summary and your own new ending, on a blank page. Nothing you write is analysed by a model — ours or anyone else's — and nothing you write is ever used to train one.

If drafting is ever added, it will run on your device using Apple's built-in on-device model, and this page will say so before that version ships.

What we never do

Who processes anything for us

That is the entire list. There is no database of users, because there are no user records to keep.

This website

This site collects nothing. There is no form to submit, no cookies are set, and no analytics or tracking scripts run on it.

Your choices

Because we hold nothing that identifies you, there is no data export to request and no account to close — there is nothing on our side to export or close.

Younger users

Rescript Sleep is rated 13+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone of any age, because there is nothing collected from anyone at all.

Recurring nightmares are common in teenagers, and the practice this app supports has been used with them. If you are under 18, we would encourage you to work through it alongside a parent, guardian or clinician — not because the app gathers anything about you, but because a nightmare frightening enough to want help with is worth having someone beside you for. That is a recommendation, not a restriction.

Not medical care

Rescript Sleep is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat any condition. It is a practice tool, and it is not a substitute for professional care or emergency support. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line. If nightmares are severely affecting your life, please speak with a clinician — this app is designed to sit alongside that, not to replace it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will update the date at the top and describe the change here rather than quietly revising it.
